About Bighorn Bistro
Bighorn Bistro & Bakery is an American style eating experience, which one might find at the base of Ajax Mountain in Aspen, Colorado, or in the middle of the quaint and rustic town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Located instead in the storied village of Chamonix at the foot of Mont Blanc, the highest point in all Western Europe, Bighorn’s mission is to transport each guest to the homes of the owners in the wild west.
Bighorn is best known for its homemade baked goods, fresh produce and protein, and our commitment to customer service and warm welcome. This little bistro is run by an American family whose dream of living in Chamonix goes back nearly 15 years. The inspiration for Bighorn came from a childhood spent in the Wyoming Rockies.
Susan, the leader of this venture, grew up near ski towns around Cody, Wyoming as well as Bozeman, Montana. The essence of this restaurant comes directly from Susan’s connection with this unique and historic part of the country both as a skier and a competitive trail runner. Susan and her son Morgan begin baking the fresh buns, tortillas and desserts before the sun rises every day. Her daughter Hannah and her husband Rhys have taken on the bar and service providing the latest in craft beer, cocktails and inspired events.
Bighorn aims to be everyone’s home away from home during this visit to Chamonix, with good food, friendly service and an undeniable family atmosphere.
